Jungle Bunks, Jungle Funk, & Jungle Fever: Pt 2

Thursday was spent as a day rounding at the hospital. We celebrated a lunch with the staff as a thank you to them for all of their hard work in making this week possible. Overall, we did 16 surgeries, the majority of them very large and complex surgeries and saw 150+ patients in clinic. Thursday afternoon, a few of the first-timers went on a float plane ride over the Amazon jungle. It was a breathtaking view watching the endless expanse of water snaking its way throughout the landscape and listening to stories of how it has changed over the years.

Not really sure what to say for a caption. Long day I guess...

Friday and Saturday were spent back in Lima visiting the capital. It is a beautiful city of 7-10 million people along the Pacific Ocean. It was a beautiful way to wind up the week.

How do you describe a trip like this in a way that people will understand? I don't think I can. I am forever grateful for the people of Peru, the experience with Scalpel at the Cross, and the people with whom I shared the trip with - Peter, Tina, Peggy, Leslie, Jordan, Joe, Peter, Goodie, Annie, Luz, Nici, Jason, Rosa, Jim, and Rebecca. I am also thankful to Jenn and the boys for letting me go for a week or so.

So, as I reflect back on a great week, my prayer is still simply "For your kingdom."
